ALL THE BRIGHT PLACES

RATING: #DNF

AUTHOR: Jennifer Niven

Genre: YA Fiction

Pages: Hardcover, 378 pages

Review:

“The Fault in Our Stars meets Eleanor and Park in this exhilarating and heart-wrenching love story about a girl who learns to live from a boy who intends to die.”

After all the hype surrounding this book, even though I was a bit skeptical about it,  I was immediately drawn to it with that one sentence. I was like, Common Girl! Who wouldn’t love this?

So, I started reading it. And guess what? Yeah! You’ve already seen the rating… I didn’t-couldn’t- finish this.

You must be thinking, “Don’t give a review if you haven’t finished reading it”. I know, I know, I understand what you’re trying to say but,

I can’t, for the life of me, finish this book.

“Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death.”

So, A boy with suicidal tendencies and a girl in depression. One might expect an aching #ERC, heart-wrenching, page-turning, gripping lovestory. But I’m sorry to break it to you,  it isn’t any of those. It wasn’t exhilarating, it was agitating; Bored me to death; Highly Overrated.

UNRAVELING ISOBEL

Capture  4/5

AUTHOR: Eileen Cook

Genre: Young Adult Thriller, Fantasy, Humor, Mystery, Romance

Series: Standalone

Published:  January 3rd 2012 by Simon Pulse

 Pages:  Hardcover,304

Review:

ISOBEL is the girl we’re gonna talk about right now. She feels her life is totally screwed up because she had to move in with her mother who just married a guy she met on internet just three months ago, Richard (She hates the name by the way) who lost his wife and a daughter in a mystery boat accident just seven months ago. So, she not only had to leave her best friend and school in the beginning of her senior year but also live in a huge ostentatious, Gothic mansion on an island where there are “more endangered birds than there are people” and not to mention Unbelievably good-looking, officially off-limits Step Brother, NATHANIEL (Her words not mine)… Yeah? we’ll see… *winks* Continue reading “UNRAVELING ISOBEL”

Series: The Selection #2

Year Published: 2013

Pages: Hard Cover,336

COVER: Gorgeous again…

PLOT:

Without beating around the bush, I’ll just say that the plot is more or less the same as THE SELECTION #1 with more Frustrating Version of America Singer…

She’s The Epitome Of Inconsistency

She’s still the same if not more infuriating and is yet to come to her senses. Every damn time America justifying her confusing feelings towards Maxon and Aspen got me ………,,,
